My husband’s birthday is this weekend. His best friend from childhood called me and said he is planning to come out this weekend all the way from Seattle to make it to my husband’s birthday party. His friend called me and said he wanted it to be a surprise. They haven’t seen each other in almost 15 years.
My husband hates surprises and has openly voiced it to me in the past but his friend said he isn’t going to jump out and surprise him or anything, he’s just going to be another guest at the party and really wants me to keep the secret.
Part of me thinks it’s harmless because it’s not a surprise party but I also don’t want to upset my husband by not giving him a warning. Should I tell him or at least tip my hat or keep it quiet like his friend wants?
