Lainey Wilson Won Entertainer Of The Year At ACMs
Lainey Wilson won ACM Entertainer of the Year at the ACMs, matching her CMA Entertainer honor that she got in November.
Lainey said in tears, accepting the ACM’s biggest honor this evening (5/16), “Man, these past few years for us have just been a complete whirlwind.”
After she thanked the Lord and her management team and all of those who have worked with her and fought for her, she thanked her fans and then said, “Everybody in this category has loved on me and believed in me, took me out on the road, sang songs with me wrote with me, encouraged me every step of the way and I love you all for that.”
She closed with, “I have the best fans in the world. Thank you so much, ya’ll.”
Wilson was nominated for Entertainer alongside her friend Jelly Roll, Chris Stapleton (2022 winner), Cody Johnson, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, and Morgan Wallen. It’s her first Entertainer award from the ACMs, and she’s the first woman to win the award since Miranda Lambert in 2021 and Carrie Underwood before that in 2019.
Lainey is also taking home ACM Awards tonight for Female Vocalist (an award she also won last year) and Musical Event for “Save Me” with Jelly Roll.

Wilson released a new song from her forthcoming Whirlwind album last week(5/12). The new song is called “Hang Tight Honey,” and it’s a banger.
In a series of posts on Instagram, Lainey revealed the new song. In the first post, she released a video clip of her in the studio listening to the song and wrote, “The next song off of Whirlwind is comin’ sooner than y’all think.”
In the next post, she shared a video clip of her in the studio recording the new song. She wrote, “Hang tight, honey, I’m heading straight home to you! My new song will be out everywhere TONIGHT at midnight ET. Pre-save/pre-add it now!”
In the final post about the new tune, she wrote, “I’ve been runnin’ the roads nonstop for a few years now and I ain’t gonna lie to y’all, sometimes it can be tough being away from home that much. At the same time, remembering what ‘home’ is and the things that I get to do for the ones I love because of the work I put in is what keeps me going and makes it all worthwhile.
This one’s an anthem for the hardworking men and women who get up every day and work long hours to make a life worth living for the ones they love most.
Love y’all! Crank ‘er up loud and proud. Listen now and pre-save, pre-add, or pre-order Whirlwind (out Aug. 23) now!”
