Tim McGraw’s Planet Fitness Partnership Draws Backlash
Tim McGraw just recently signed on to endorse Planet Fitness to raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. As much as he has dedicated his life to fitness in the last ten years, it seems like a good fit. But many fans reacted to his recent Instagram post with some criticism.
Tim posted a video clip explaining his new contest with the company. He captioned the clip, “Getting up and moving is such an important part of my day, so I partnered with Planet Fitness to give my fans a chance to get moving with a special offer. For a limited time, you can get your FIRST MONTH FREE at Planet Fitness using promo code MCGRAW.”
He added, “And when you join online, consider supporting the Judgement Free Generation® initiative to create a better tomorrow by donating to Boys and Girls Clubs of America @bgca_clubs.”
Fans were not so kind in their response. One fan wrote, “Stop lying to us. You got your at-home gym and never stepped foot in a Planet Fitness outside this promo.” Another fan said, “Aww man, I loved your music and your way of life, but I think you’re aligning yourself with the wrong business! Sorry, but ain’t having it.”

Planet Fitness is known for its “judgment-free zone” and inclusive environment and recently faced backlash after banning a woman for posting a photo of a man shaving in the women’s locker room.
This move led to significant losses and raised prices for the first time since 1998.

In other Tim news, McGraw recently helped out a young couple with a gender reveal, revealing whether the couple’s baby would be a “Tim” or a “Faith” recently.
From the stage, Tim motioned to a lady holding a sign asking him to reveal the gender of their baby. McGraw said to the lady, “Bring that sign over here. Oh my gosh, we have a gender reveal. I’ll do it.”
Tim holds up the envelope and says, “Let’s see if it’s gonna be a ‘Tim’ or a ‘Faith.'” He opens the envelope and yells, “It’s a boy! We’ve got a ‘Tim!’ Congratulations, guys. Yes, I will sign it.”
He posted the fun exchange on his Instagram, captioning the post, “Pretty sure this is the first time I’ve done a gender reveal at a show.”
Many fans responded to the post, including one who said, “Gotta name him Tim or have his middle name be Tim.” Another fan commented, “I was there! It was a really cool and sweet moment. Great concert!!” One more fan wrote, “Awww! What a fabulous memory to have to tell!”
