Free Movies (Including ‘Trap’) This Weekend at Colonial Theatre!
Going to the movies is fun. Going to the movies for free is spectacular! No one is going to turn down free movies, especially when the movies showing include classics and the hottest movie coming out this weekend – M. Night Shyamalan’s “Trap.” You get it all this weekend at The Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
Free Movies
The Colonial Theater, home of Blobfest, will host free movies for all residents THIS WEEKEND (August 3 and 4), courtesy of Pluto TV. The theater is a part of free streaming service Pluto TV’s Summer of Cinema campaign that supports independent and family run theaters across the country.
Bob Trate, the Director of Programming for Colonial Theater told us:
We are thrilled to partner with Pluto TV on their Summer of Cinema campaign. Having new movies and kids’ movies for free on Saturday and Sunday is fantastic. Sunday has the real treat, come for a live accompaniment on the Wurlitzer Theatre Organ and see the 1927 silent classic movie ‘WINGS’ like you’ve never seen it before.
And we are excited, too, Mr. Trate. Because there is nothing like immersing yourself in the visual of the big screen and the audio of the surround sound you can only get in a theater setting. The pandemic took the community atmosphere away from so many of us, now is the time to come back together and experience great movies like Matilda (Aug. 3) and Shrek (Aug. 3) for free, as well as free showings of Wings (1927) with a Live Theatre Organ Accompaniment (Aug. 4), and Trap (Aug. 3, 4).
‘Trap’
Trap is the newest movie by award winning local writer and director M. Night Shyamalan. It tells the story of a father (Josh Hartnett) and his daughter who attend a concert, only to realize they have gotten themselves into something dark and sinister.
Tickets for Trap, Matilda, Shrek, and Wings can be reserved through the Colonial Theater website.
