For the first time ever, nineteen students from Bucks County Community College's floral design program will show off their work at the Philadelphia Flower Show. The show runs March 1-9 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Since 1829, this amazing show has drawn people from all over America - about 250,000 visitors each year. For these certificate program students, it's their first time being part of this huge event.

They'll be working with Renee Tucci, who's about to become president of the American Institute of Floral Designers. Talking to the Bucks County Herald, Tucci said: "The region has become a hot bed of talented floral designers."

Six more students will help out behind the scenes at this year's Philadelphia Flower Show, which focuses on "Gardens of Tomorrow." This huge event puts $1 million each year into programs that promote green living and wellness.

As an AIFD education partner, the college teaches students everything from wedding arrangements to funeral displays, with extra attention on European design methods.

At the Philadelphia Flower Show, attendees can check out free "Know to Grow" sessions with gardening experts. While families explore the plant galleries and browse unique items for sale, students will get real-world experience working with industry pros.

The Floral Design Certificate Program at Bucks County Community College starts with the fundamentals before moving on to more complex techniques. Students work with fresh flowers while learning design basics and how to handle special events.
