Quick work by police and neighbors saved a loose cow roaming close to U.S. Route 322 in Logan Township, New Jersey on April 19, 2025.
People started calling the police station early in the morning when worried residents spotted the large animal walking through yards and farmland near Woolwich Township's border. The strange sight brought morning traffic to a halt.
The officers asked nearby homeowners for help with this unexpected farm emergency.
Neighbors jumped right in to help. The makeshift rescue team managed to corner and catch the wandering visitor without any problems, working out well for everyone involved, including their four-legged friend.
The Logan Township Police Department posted a photo of the cow, outside a pool store, with the following caption, "10:30am update: The cow has been apprehended! Thanks to some friends in our community, the cow is safe and sound and on her way to the DREAM Park on Rt. 130. Big thanks to them for helping moooove her along!
We can’t make this up. But if you’re missing a cow in the area of US Rt. 322 near the Woolwich Township border, we found it! In addition, if you might be able to help our patrol officers wrangle her up, please please reach out via dispatch at 856-589-0911. Unfortunately, lassos and lariats aren’t in our standard equipment issue 😬. Thank you all!"
DREAM Park on Route 130 offered to keep the cow for now. Their staff will look after it while officials try to find which farm it came from.
Strangely enough, this is the second time this month that animals have gotten loose. According to NBCphiladelphia.com, just last week, a few cows escaped in nearby Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Those cows also made it back home safe after their short adventure.
Police are still looking for where the cow came from, checking farms and properties in bigger and bigger circles from where they found it.
