A Cape May restaurant boasting spectacular views of Cape May Harbor has been named among the best in the United States for waterfront dining.
In its 2025 10Best Readers' Choice Awards, USA TODAY named The Lobster House in Cape May No. 6 in its top 10 waterfront restaurants in America category.
USA TODAY editors commented on the following aspects about the dining experience at The Lobster House:

In compiling its 10Best Readers' Choice Awards lists, USA TODAY travel experts pick 20 nominees in categories ranging from food and lodging to activities and destinations. The publication then asks readers to vote to identify the top 10 selections in each category.

According to The Lobster House's website, the restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner year-round. It features five dining rooms and a full bar. They do not take reservations.
One of the most unique features of The Lobster House is the 130- foot-long authentic Grand Banks sailing vessel, the Schooner American, which is moored dockside. The Schooner serves as an outdoor cocktail lounge delivering a full bar, lunch menu, and Lobster House specialty appetizers during the evening.
Yelp reviewers also echo USA TODAY's praises for the dining establishment:
"One of our go-to stops when we're at the shore. If you never experience dining on the dock or the schooner, you're missing a memory. The raw bar has great soups and fresh oysters and clams," said Len S. of Sewell, New Jersey.

The restaurant also has a Fish Market attached. Open daily from 8 am to 7 pm, visitors can purchase fresh seafood and some of The Lobster House's prepared specialties.
The Lobster House can be found on Fisherman's Wharf in Cape May.
