With school wrapping up for kids in New Jersey, it's the perfect time to explore several events taking place in the state throughout the month of June. Below are a few free suggestions from a larger list compiled by New Jersey Family:
June 6-8
St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church in Somerset will host a Lebanese festival that will feature authentic Middle Eastern foods, music, dance, and culture. Traditional foods such as falafel, shawarma (gyro), hummus, spinach pies, tabouli, stuffed grape leaves, and pastries will be available for purchase. Live music will include a different singer for each day, plus dancing, folklore performances, raffles, prizes, souvenirs, and games of chance. Admission and parking are free.
June 14
The community of Montclair will hold a pride festival on Saturday, June 14. Events will feature a Pride flag raising, cocktail reception, art exhibits, a variety show, Doughnuts & Drag, film events, lectures, and a Pride market.
June 15
The New Jersey Botanical Garden in Haddonfield invites families to experience a Father's Day family woodland hike. Parents are invited to join their kids for an easy hike in the garden's woodlands. Staff from the botanical garden will introduce the plants that grow there and the animals that live there.
June 21
Gloucester Township will host a Juneteenth Celebration at Veterans Park. The event will promote local businesses while featuring a cultural marketplace, food, live music, and plenty of diverse entertainment.
June 21-22
Held rain or shine, The Wildwoods boardwalk will be the place to come to browse the offerings of vendors selling handcrafted jewelry, home decor, artwork, and other beach-themed treasures.
