Penn State is set to host a historic outdoor hockey event at Beaver Stadium on Jan. 31, 2026, featuring both men's and women's teams in two highly anticipated games. The women's hockey team will take on Robert Morris at the football stadium, and, later that day, the men's team will play Michigan State there.

Presale opportunities for select groups, including men's hockey season ticket holders, football season ticket holders, and Nittany Lion Club members, will begin on Oct. 14. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Oct. 15.

Ticket prices vary by seating, with the lowest at $28 for upper-level seats and premium options, such as Mount Nittany Club seats, at $78. Student tickets are priced at $24, with a lottery system opening Monday, Oct. 6, and closing Friday, Oct. 10, for non-season ticket holders. Students who are included in hockey season tickets do not need to take any additional action.

Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com, an official partner of Penn State, or by calling 800-NITTANY (800-648-8269) between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“To bring the excitement of college hockey to Beaver Stadium is truly special,” athletic director Pat Kraft said The Centre Daily Times announcing the plan in August. “Having our men's program face a premier Big Ten opponent in Michigan State and our women's program face Robert Morris on this stage reflects the incredible growth and national profile of Penn State Hockey and provides an unforgettable experience for our student-athletes, alumni, and fans. We can't wait to see Hockey Valley come alive in Beaver Stadium.”

It is not known how Penn State is handling the women's tickets for the Beaver Stadium game. The email outlining sales only mentioned the men's game, and it did not clarify whether the women's tickets would be sold separately, included with the men's tickets, or handled differently.

Three Penn State officials did not immediately respond to an email from the Times seeking comment.

The outdoor games will take place amid significant renovation work at Beaver Stadium, which is currently undergoing a multi-year, $700 million rehabilitation project.
