For more than 20 years, a beloved Halloween tradition in Lambertville, New Jersey, has attracted thousands of visitors in search of something frightfully fun.
Created by retired art teacher Dolores Dragan, the “Halloween House” on North Union Street is a local legend. Dragan's goal was to create lasting memories with her Halloween displays, which include sculptures and playful scenes that transform her home into a haunted wonderland.
After decades of work setting up her home for Halloween, Dragan is ready to share her magic in a new way and has asked the Lambertville Creative Arts Fund to help her take her work to a new level.
Beginning this month, Dragan's creations will live on through the “Memory Maker's Trail of Magic,” a month-long, citywide celebration. The Halloween displays will be exhibited throughout Lambertville's business district, adorning shopfronts and community spaces.
“Dolores has given this town a gift that went far beyond Halloween — she gave us moments that stick with you for a lifetime,” said Lisa Shippy-Woods of the Lambertville Creative Arts Fund in a statement shared with the Patch of New Hope-Lambertville. “We're honored to share that magic with the whole city.”
“Memory Maker's Trail of Magic” is sponsored by River Valley Realty and other local supporters. The free, self-guided experience is suitable for all ages. The trail will remain open throughout October. View the Trail of Magic Map online.
The Lambertville Creative Arts Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting creativity through public art, music, and storytelling, is behind this initiative, aiming to inspire future generations of artists.
