The Burlington County Animal Shelter is hosting a Family Safety Day event on Saturday, Oct. 11, from noon to 4 p.m. The event will focus on promoting pet safety, Halloween safety precautions for pets, fire prevention, and emergency preparedness, while encouraging animal adoption.

Attendees will have the chance to meet adoptable dogs and cats, with waived adoption fees for adult animals, and participate in activities such as reading to shelter animals and engaging in demonstrations.

The event will feature participation from multiple county departments and organizations, including the following:

  • Burlington City Police Department
  • Burlington County Animal Response Team (CART)
  • Burlington County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
  • Burlington County Fire Marshal's Office
  • Burlington County Health Department
  • Burlington County Office of Emergency Management
  • Burlington County Sheriff's Office

First responders and representatives from various agencies will share safety information through demonstrations and interactive activities.

In addition to safety education, the event will provide attendees with details on volunteer opportunities, fostering, donating supplies, and helping animals find loving homes.

“Whether you're fostering an animal at home, volunteering your time, donating needed supplies, or sharing social media posts about the adoptable pets, it all helps and can make a tremendous difference for the animals at the shelter,” Commissioner Randy Brollo shared with The Cinnaminson Sun.
