Manayunk is pulling out all the stops this holiday season, transforming Philadelphia’s Main Street into a real-life winter wonderland. From November 20 through December 22, the neighborhood is packed with festive events, dazzling lights, and community spirit that make it the city’s largest holiday celebration. Whether you’re looking for twinkling lights, trolley rides, fun runs, or pop-up bars, Manayunk has something for everyone.
Tree Lighting and Get Lit Main Street
The season kicks off on November 20 with Philadelphia and Pennsylvania’s largest tree lighting ceremony at Canal View Park. Expect live performances, a surprise visit from Santa, glow giveaways, crafts, and a magical North Pole snowfall. The night also marks the launch of the Manayunk Gets Lit Decorating Competition, where over 40 local businesses compete to see who can deck the block with the most dazzling lights and decorations. Visitors can vote for their favorites and enter to win a $200 shopping spree.
Festive Fun and the Jolly Trolley
Throughout December, Get Lit weekends bring Main Street to life with twinkling lights, food and drink deals, shopping specials, carolers, and festive live entertainment. The complimentary Manayunk Jolly Trolley runs Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, stopping at favorite businesses so you can hop on and off to shop, dine, and celebrate. Special guests like Santa, the Grinch, Rudolph, and elves make appearances, adding to the holiday cheer.
Pop-Ups, Runs, and Community Events
Manayunk’s holiday pop-ups are a highlight, especially Taqueria Amor’s sixth annual Señor Grinch pop-up bar, where the space is transformed into a Grinch-themed wonderland with themed cocktails and holiday movie clips. The Rudolph Run on December 13 invites runners to dress up and race for a cause, with proceeds supporting North Light Community Center. Lincoln Mill Haunted House’s Twisted Christmas brings a spooky twist to the holidays on December 12 and 13, while Hanukkah celebrations include candle lighting and giveaways.
Shop Local and Give Back
Manayunk’s Small Business Saturday Passport returns on November 29, encouraging shoppers to support local businesses and earn prizes. Operation Santa Claus helps families in need, with gift donations available at the Manayunk Welcome Center. The annual Manayunk Meals and More event sees local restaurants preparing and delivering over 700 holiday meals to neighbors in need.
A Holiday Experience Like No Other
Manayunk’s holiday festivities are more than just lights and parties—they’re a celebration of community, generosity, and the spirit of the season. Whether you’re shopping, dining, running, or simply soaking up the festive atmosphere, Manayunk is the place to be this holiday season. Visit manayunk.com for a full schedule of events.
