Registration remains open for the 2025 Reindeer Romp, a community 5K run and 1-mile walk in Havertown on Saturday, Dec. 13. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

The 5K, professionally timed by Bryn Mawr Racing and taking place on a USATF-certified course, will start and finish at Haverford High School. The 5K will begin at 3 p.m., followed by the 1-mile walk at 3:05 p.m.

Event organizers note that registration will be capped at 600 participants. Registration is available on the event's website.

Finishers will receive a commemorative ornament, sponsored by Beatty Lumber, and long-sleeve shirts, while supplies last, as part of the after-party.

Post-race festivities feature a celebratory finish at local Havertown establishments and complimentary beverages or pizza for participants through Pizza & Pub partners, including Tony Roni's, JD McGillicuddy's, The Crossbar, and Paddy Rooney's Pub.

The Reindeer Romps honors the memory of Brandon Lake and Matt Aber, both cancer victims, and serves as a memorial for the Havertown community.

"The American Cancer Society is thrilled to continue its partnership with the Reindeer Romp in 2025. This almost-three-decade partnership has resulted in nearly $600,000 in support for our programs and initiatives, in particular, our Hope Lodge in Cheltenham, where those undergoing cancer treatments in the Philadelphia region can stay free of charge and not have to worry about meals or transportation. We share our sincere gratitude for all those who run the Reindeer Romp and help make a difference," said Greg Paone, Philadelphia director of regional integrated marketing at the American Cancer Society, in a news release.

Nolan Painting has been the presenting sponsor of the Reindeer Romp since 2000. It has involved its staff and leadership substantially in organizing and funding the event. The company contributes more than $5,000 annually toward expenses. Kevin J. Nolan remains the race director as the company marshals volunteers and staff for the event.

Additional sponsors supporting the event include Rothman Orthopaedics, Beatty Lumber, Sir Speedy of Havertown, Havertown Carpet Co., Sherwin-Williams, Meridian Bank, Shreiner Tree Care, Mid Penn Bank, and various local businesses.
