The Philadelphia Union has unveiled its 2026 primary “1776 Kit” to commemorate the United States semiquincentennial this year. The design ties Philadelphia's role in America's founding to America's 250th anniversary and 2026 MLS activities in the city.

“The 1776 Kit represents a historic moment for Philadelphia and for the club,” said Amanda Young Curtis, senior vice president of marketing and communications for the Philadelphia Union, in a statement shared within a Union news announcement. “America's 250th anniversary and the FIFA World Cup create a unique opportunity to showcase Philadelphia's history, pride, and global relevance, and this jersey is a symbol of that moment. It's a reflection of who we are, where we come from, and the significance of this year for our city, our fans, and our organization.”

A radiant starburst design inspired by patriotic bunting and fireworks graces the jersey, with the Revolution seal over the heart, a Heritage Tree on the front, and “Est. 1776” on the collar.

Fans will spot historic symbols on the jersey, such as Benjamin Franklin, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Liberty Bell, and John Hancock's signature on the Declaration of Independence. Additionally, the 1776 jocktag marks the beginning point of a revolutionary movement, while the Join or Die snake at the nape symbolizes victory through unity.

To mark the launch of the 1776 Kit, the Union will host several pop-up shops across historic sites in Philadelphia.

  • IBX River Rink: Friday, Feb. 13 | 6:30–8:30 p.m.
  • Independence Hall: Saturday, Feb. 14 | noon–2 p.m.
  • Dilworth Park: Sunday, Feb. 15 | noon–2 p.m.

In addition, the Union shop will be open on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 14 and 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 1776 Kit is also on sale now at the MLSStore.com, Fanatics.com, and Adidas.com.
