Registration for the 2026 Philadelphia Broad Street Run has opened, and runners who want to participate in the annual event can enter the race lottery until Friday, Feb. 13, at 11:59 p.m. Registration costs $65 per entrant. Selected runners will be informed of their lottery status during the week of Feb. 16.
Runners who don't secure a spot through the lottery may be able to participate on behalf of one of the race's charity partners, according to Axios Philadelphia.
Approximately 40,000 runners participate in the Broad Street Run annually.

When Is the 2026 Independence Broad Street Run?
The 2026 Broad Street Run takes place on Sunday, May 3, at 7 a.m. The race starts at Broad Street and Somerville Avenue in North Philadelphia and finishes at the Navy Yard after proceeding through Center City and South Philadelphia.
"This year, as the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, we are proud to welcome thousands of runners and visitors to the extraordinary IBX Broad Street Run," Mayor Cherelle L. Parker said in a statement shared with CBS Philadelphia. "Events like this showcase how tradition, community, and celebration come together in a way only Philadelphia can deliver."
