A 6,688-square-foot Mediterranean-style ranch home formerly owned by a sports legend is up for sale again.

The former home of Muhammad Ali in Cherry Hill, New Jersey at 1121 Winding Drive has been listed for sale for $1.9 million, up $100,000 from a previous listing in 2023.

The property sits on 1.5 acres and features a large kitchen with a center island, a sunlit greenhouse room, an in-ground pool with a hot tub, adjacent basketball and tennis courts, a lower-level personal gym, and a 12-foot wet bar.

Ali, who died in 2016, lived in Cherry Hill with his family from 1971 to 1973. “I made a little mansion out of it. I've got a lot of land,” Ali shared with Philadelphia Magazine during the 1970s.

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Ali purchased the home for $103,000 in 1971. He later moved to Chicago, according to a The New York Times, after his friend, Camden power broker Major Coxson, was shot and killed in his home down the street from Ali's. A major McDonald's franchisee subsequently sold the mansion for $175,000.

The current owners, who bought the property in 2014, renovated the interior to a modern look while preserving Ali's prayer room on the lower level and keeping Ali's koi pond repurposed as a courtyard centerpiece with a fire pit.

The home has a strong entertainment appeal, with its basement bar and a spiral staircase to the downstairs area, according to Nicholas Alvini of Keller Williams. It has historically been used for short-term rentals.

According to the Inquirerthe home has drawn attention for several disruptive events, including 97 police visits over “wild parties” from 2018 to 2019, fueling local discussion about Airbnb regulations in Cherry Hill.
