While the Philadelphia Eagles did not appear in this year's Super Bowl, one of the team's fans has brought a newfound NFL honor to the City of Brotherly Love.

Ed Callahan, 79, was named the league's 2025 Fan of the Year during an NFL Honors ceremony in San Francisco on Thursday, Feb. 5.

In a video shared on social media, Callahan was escorted into a room by the Eagles' "Big Dom" DiSandro, where Brandon Graham and others greeted him to congratulate him.

According to CBS Philadelphia, the retired naval officer is renowned for his Lot E tailgates at Lincoln Financial Field, which he holds to raise money for the Eagles Autism Foundation. As of Feb. 10, he has raised a total of $504,000 for the Foundation, with more than $82,000 raised in 2025 alone.

According to the Eagles' website, Callahan's Eagles journey began with attending a game in 1954. He's been a season-ticket holder since 1997.

As part of the 2025 NFL Fan of the Year Award, Callahan won tickets to Sunday's Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks in Santa Clara, California.

According to CBS Philadelphia, Callahan beat 31 other superfan nominees from each of the NFL's 31 other teams to claim the national honor. He received a custom Ultimate Fan football, a commemorative sign, and a celebratory moment with Eagles staff and Brandon Graham.

The Eagles website noted that Callahan is the first Eagles fan ever to earn the prestigious award.

"This is awesome," Callahan said. "Let me explain to you why I'm smiling so much. I kind of suspected when I was selected as the Eagles' Fan of the Year, but this was a complete surprise. You guys got me on this one, and it's a great feeling. Thank you very much."
