Cristina O’Neill emailed in and said: I would like to nominate my good friend Michelle Zoppina. Three years ago my friend buried her father. The next day she found out she had breast cancer. She fought it like she does everything in her life to win this battle. I nominate her as my warrior because she has never faltered. She has had a double mastectomy, chemotherapy treatments, etc.
And reconstruction hasn’t been easy either. She has undergone many adjustments just so she can feel normal again (if there is such a thing). I can’t imagine living every day thinking, “will it will come back again?” Michelle just moves forward and doesn’t let that thought get into her head. She’s my hero and for many woman out there having to deal with a very personal and hurtful disease.
