Cup o’ Joy – 81 Year Old Man Chases Off Burglars With Antique Irish Shillelagh
A man showed up at the front door of Dan Donovan’s home in a reflective vest claiming that wanted to inspect a fuse box due to a transformer fire in the neighborhood the day before. While the couple was in the basement with the man, she heard two other men upstairs.
Dan Donovan is an 81-year-old former U.S. Marine and immediately rushed upstairs and grabbed his grandfather’s shillelagh, which had been propped up in the corner of the dining room. Donovan said he pursued the trio, striking one in the back of the head with the club.
The other guys ran away and only got away with 1 pillow case.
