The White Dog Cafe and WMMR’s Preston and Steve will host the Fourth Dining Out for the Dogs Monday, August 16, 2021, starting at 5 pm to raise funds for Alpha Bravo Canine,™ Philadelphia’s first and only organization that donates service dogs to US veterans suffering from debilitating medical and psychological problems as a result of their active combat duty.

It is estimated that twenty percent of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and/or depression. Also, an alarming average of 22 veterans commit suicide every day here in the United States.

WMMR, BEN FM, WMGK, etc. on-air personalities will be at each of the three suburban White Dog Cafe locations, White Dog Cafe Wayne, White Dog Cafe Haverford, and White Dog Cafe Glen Mills, which opened in the fall of 2020, dining with guests.

Guests can bid now through the 16th on an array of auction items including the opportunity to have their pup immortalized on a mural by Jay McClellan who has created many of the portraits that hang at White Dog Glen Mills as well as at the other White Dog Cafe locations. The pups in the mural will each be 4-feet tall and three lucky dogs will have the chance to be immortalized. The bidding for the mural inclusion will start at $300. You can bid here.

Other auction items include Fearless Restaurants gift cards and an overnight stay at DaddyO in LBI.

At this year’s event, guests can enjoy a flight of hot dogs for $35 with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Alpha Bravo Canine. The menu includes Coney Island Dog made with Green Meadow farm beef, Pa noble cheddar cheese, pickled red onions, a Southwestern Dog that includes Guacamole, chipotle aioli, cotija cheese, crispy tortillas, the White Dog with white truffle aioli, shellbark hollow goat cheese, mushroom relish or the Backyard Dog with ketchup, mustard and bbq potato chip crumble.

There will also be puppy-kissing booths at each location where guests can donate to cuddle and kiss one of the Alpha Bravo Canine puppies!

Guests can donate $25 and book a VIP (very important puppy) table at White Dog Cafe Haverford and White Dog Cafe Glen Mills where they are guaranteed outdoor seating for the event with their pup (based on availability).

Guests can enjoy our Tito’s Dirty Dog cocktail with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Alpha Bravo Canine during Dining Out for the Dogs.

Jay McClellan will be onsite at the White Dog Cafe Glen Mills with his dog-friendly ice cream cart featuring all-natural pup ice cream created by White Dog Cafe Glen Mills Executive Chef Mike Selser to benefit Alpha Bravo Canine. The flavors, peanut butter bacon, banana strawberry, and pumpkin with treats were developed by Executive Chef Mike Selser and were taste-tested and given a paw up by pups at a local rescue! The ice creams are made with all-natural human food ingredients.

The White Dog Cafe locations are: 379 Lancaster Avenue Haverford (610-896-4556), 200 W Lancaster Avenue, Wayne (610-225-3700), and White Dog Cafe Glen Mills, 981 Baltimore Pike in the Shoppes at Brinton Lake (610) 822-2100
