Adam Levine did not hold back on his feelings towards Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s upcoming wedding.
The singer appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday where he began poking fun at former fellow The Voice judges tying the knot together.
“I don’t support their marriage,” Levine joked to DeGeneres. “She’s so cool,” he said of Stefani, “and he’s not.”
“But he’s very funny and very smart,” the television host pointed out about Shelton.
Levine only agreed a little bit saying, “He’s vaguely charming,” before he broke out into a laugh.
“I missed this. I missed making so much fun of him,” Levine confessed before DeGeneres suggested the Maroon 5 singer do that on the couple’s special day.
“I’ll go to the wedding and I’ll object,” Levine said. “I probably won’t be invited now that I’m saying this on live television. But I’ll be there somehow.”
“I’ll be your date. Let’s go together,” joked DeGeneres. “Let’s go. Let’s just crash,” joined Levine.
This isn’t the first time Levine has made jokes about Shelton and Stefani’s wedding. He joked that the singers “couldn’t afford” to have him sing at the event in a Sirius XM The Morning Mash Up interview.
On the other hand, Levine said he “would love” and “be honored” to play at their wedding. “They won’t ask me though. They’ll probably get like Luke Bryan or somebody,” he playfully added.
It seems that the couple would be happy if Levine performed.
While on Late Night with Seth Meyers last week, Stefani stated, “I definitely would love to have Adam sing at our wedding.”
Shelton shared a similar view on Meyer’s show in December saying, “I’ve decided that I’ve been doing this a long time now and I’ve got a lot of favors out there. He may not like it, but Adam Levine’s gonna have to get the band together and come play our wedding.”
He joked, “There music is so boring that it won’t distract from the festivities and the reception.”
Shelton proposed to Stefani last October and are now aiming to have their wedding this summer.
