Luke Combs will finally be back in Philadelphia playing two sold-out shows at Lincoln Financial Field. He has a lot of fans including some very famous Philly ones. Keep your eyes open for 7 celebrities you might run into at Luke Combs’s Philadelphia concerts.

Also, can we talk about what a treat that Luke Combs is hosting a free tailgate for his Philadelphia concert on Saturday, July 29th. The last time Luke was in Philly, was 2019 when he played at Wells Fargo Center and Morgan Wallen opened for him. It’s crazy to think that both Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen had sold-out stadium shows in Philly. Unfortunately, Morgan Wallen’s never happened. His was on Saturday, June 17th at Citizens Bank Park, but was one of the shows cancelled with his vocal issue. In fact, we are still waiting for a new date for Philadelphia. All we know so far is May 2024.

Anyway, back to Luke Combs. He’s going to be a Lincoln Financial Field this weekend on Friday 28th and Saturday, July 29th – tailgate is only scheduled for the Saturday, July 29th show. He was originally only supposed to be here on Saturday, July 29th, but his shows sold out so fast, he added two dates in a lot of the cities. He opens his show with my favorite song, “Lovin On You” and I’m praying that he plays “Tattoo on a Sunburn” which is my favorite on his new album Gettin Old.

Luke’s tailgates will be in the parking lot of the Linc on the day of his show Saturday show on July 29th from 2 PM – 5 PM. The 3 new country artists playing the tailgate are: Tyler Dial – 2p, Royael Lynn – 3pm, Wyatt McCubbin – 4p.

Last weekend he was in Boston and it POURED during his Friday night show that he was only able to do 10 songs because of the city curfew. It’s going to be hot in Philly this weekend. Hopefully, it cools off a little and there’s no rain.

  • Jake Elliott

And maybe Carson Wentz. If you remember in 2018 after the Eagles won the Super Bowl Kenny Chesney did a sold out Summer tour and his sold out Philly show was at the Linc. “Boys of Fall” wasn’t on his set list, but he played it for the Eagles and Doug Pederson, Carson Wentz, Jake Elliott, Zach Ertz and a few other players went on stage with Kenny holding the Lombardi trophy. Now we know the Eagles didn’t win the Super Bowl this year, but we know Jake loves country music and he lives in Philly year round, so there’s a good chance we see him at the show.

  • Matt Strahm

Matt’s a Phillies Pitcher from West Fargo, ND. That’s all you really have to say. Clearly he loves country music. He probably grew up on a farm riding bulls. Ha. Love that he chose Tim McGraw for his walk up song. He knows Tim is a huge Phillies fan because of his dad Tug, so if they let the Phillies fly home for the show, Matt will be there.

  • Lane Johnson

Lane one of the star’s of the Philly Special Christmas album with some of his Eagles teammates, and not to mention, Lane can sing. He is also always commenting on Luke’s Instagram, which is adorable. Luke shotgunned a beer with Patrick Mahomes at Arrowhead so he better do the same on stage with Lane at the Linc.

  • Jason Kelce

We already know Jason Kelce is a massive fan of music. It was his idea to even mark A Philly Special Christmas album and it was so popular is actually landed on the billboard charts! Jason also sang the National Anthem at a Sixers game. He was at the Roots Picnic in June, so there’s a strong chance he’ll be at Luke.

  • Bryce Harper

Bryce is by far the biggest country music fan in all of the Philly celebrities. Not only does he use Luke’s song “The Kind of Love We Make” as his walkup song, he also hung out with Morgan Wallen and used a few Sam Hunt songs for his walk up songs as well. The Phillies are playing the Pittsburg Pirates in Pittsburgh this weekend, but maybe there’s a chance they fly home for the show.

  • Nick Nelsons

Phillies Pitcher Nick Nelsons uses Cody Johnson as his walk up song. You know you have to be a huge country music fan when you’re using a Co-Jo song as your walking up to bat song. Hopefully Nick gets to see Luke in Philly.

  • Chris Long

Our beloved Chris Long. He only played for the Eagles for 2 seasons but Philly treats him like he spent his whole career here. Chris still comes back to Philly a lot (He just did an episode of his podcast “The Green Light” here and interviewed a bunch of Eagles players). Also, his wife Meg is from here so they come back to visit a lot, especially in the summer they spent a lot of time at the shore. Chris is a huge country music fan. One of his sons is named Waylon and they just named his new daughter June.
