Dolly Parton Pairs with Surprising Rock Stars for New Album

Dolly Parton - An Icon

It's impossible to overstate Dolly Parton's importance in country music. She's been a living legend and genre icon for over five decades, releasing numerous albums and earning inductions into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Parton's creative control of her music and career paved the way for other women in country music, making her one of the first female artists to achieve such success as a songwriter and performer. Now, she's venturing into the rock world.

Dolly Parton's Rock Album

After being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, she was inspired to create her own rock album. And she did just that! Dolly's newest album, "Rock Star," will release at the end of summer or early fall of 2023. The album is expected to have 28 tracks and prominent artists joining her.

While promoting her new book, "Billy the Kid" on Good Morning America, the country artist revealed that she will perform her first single, "World On Fire," from her rock album, "Rock Star," during the ACMs, which she will be co-hosting with Garth Brooks. She says, "The song has a great message, and it's a good and solid rock anthem."

During an interview on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Dolly revealed the big names from the rock world that will be singing on her new album. We can expect new singles and covers of your favorite rock songs like

  • (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones
  • Stairway To Heaven - Led Zepplin
  • Purple Rain - Prince
