Over the weekend, news came out that Top Gun: Maverick has overtaken Titanic as the 7th grossing film of all time. I knew that the movie was doing really well but when you think of Titanic, you think of outlandish numbers.
Well, Tom Cruise and company have done it and they aren't stopping any time soon. I am going to create the top 10 list of all time grossing films but I just want to say that I have only seen 2 of the films. I(Donnie) am not a Marvel, superhero, or Star Wars guy. I am a fan of real-life stuff. I know I am missing out on some quality entertainment and maybe one day I will sit down and watch these movies but for right now, it's just real actors playing real people.
One final thing I noticed is that all of the movies besides Titanic have been made in the 2000s or later. Is this because movies have gotten better? Is it because marketing has gotten better?
Below is the Top 10 Grossing Films of All Time (as of August 8th, 2022)...
10. The Avengers
I did see the first Iron Man. It was REALLLY good! That's all I got.
9. Jurassic World
Chris Pratt is the man but I saw the original and I'm totally fine with that being the only taste of the Jurassic Park franchise I need.
8. Titanic
This was THE love story. Next to The Notebook, I think it's the greatest romance movie ever.
7. Top Gun: Maverick
The movie lived up to its hype. It was fantastic and it gives you all the nostalgia you want and need.
6. Avengers: Infinity War
Here is another movie that people are screaming at me to watch. Aren't there like 100 movies I have to watch prior to this?
5. Black Panther
I have only heard good things but it's still not my kinda movie. Love Michael B. Jordan though!
4. Avatar
Not a big fan of these kinds of movies but I went to Disney World and experienced Pandora which is the world of Avatar and it was amazing. I will be watching this classic at some point.
3. Spider-Man: No Way Home
I do like Spider-Man. I saw the first Tobey McGuire movie in 2002 and I really liked it but I don't have to see any more.
2. Avengers: Endgame
I feel like this should be #1 because this is all I've heard about over the past few years.
1. Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens
Here is your number 1 grossing film ever!
