It's been really amazing because you get to hear these really special songs stripped down acoustic. It shows just how talented Taylor Swift is. It's not talked about enough how Taylor writes all of her own music. There are many songs who are written literally just by her.
Taylor Swift opened The Ears Tour the weekend of March 17 & 18 at State Farm Arena in Phoenix and will be closing the US portion of the tour August 3–5, 8 and 9 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. It's the first time a single artist has sold out five nights in a row at the stadium.
Last weekend Taylor performed "Dear John" which is the first time in 11 years she performed that song live. Many assume the song is about her relationship with John Mayer and since she is about to release Speak Now Taylor's Version on July 7, she felt the need to address it. "I'm 33 years old. I don't care about anything that happened to me when I was 19 except the songs I wrote ... I'm not putting this album out so you should feel the need to defend me on the internet against someone you think I might have written a song about," she said.
Many speculate that "All Too Well" is about Taylor's relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal and he got railed on social media. Two words: Red Scarf. I do think it's pretty incredible how Taylor's fans are so intense, they don't realize that she wrote these songs over a decade ago. She is over it, and we should be too.
During Taylor's Philly shows, one of her secret songs was "Gold Rush" where she confirmed the line "with my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door" is indeed about the Philadelphia Eagles.
I have to admit I'm bummed she hasn't played "Dress" yet and she stopped playing "Invisible String" after she and Joe broke up.
