Gift giving is supposed to be heartfelt and enjoyable. Instead, it has become a massive hassle that can break the bank. My mom is 86-years-old, so she gets a pass, but a few years ago she announced that she wasn’t going to give gifts anymore. It’s too much of a hassle. She sends her grandchildren checks and she sends her daughters cards and that’s the end of that. This year she was annoyed even doing that.
