This is truly amazing and the teen has now been deemed "America's Top Young Scientist" for this truly revolutionary invention that will help with the most inconvenient of inconveniences.

EAR INFECTIONS ARE THE WORST! As someone who has many, I know they are not fun at all. Obviously, Leanne Fan, a 14-year-old in San Diego, California, agrees, they are the worst. She recently won the top prize at the 3M Young Scientist Challenge with her invention.

She invented a low-cost headphone device that uses blue light to treat mid-ear infections in children. Ear infections in children also leads to massive hearing loss over time, up to 60%, so this in term is preventing hearing loss as well!

She was a big winner, this according to GoodNewsNetwork!

The incoming high school freshman won a $25,000 cash prize, a special destination trip, and the prestigious title of “America’s Top Young Scientist”. She is planning to use some of the prize money to start the patent process for the headphones.
