Bakeries across the United States are continuously coming up with creative ways to serve donuts. These creations can range from intricate donut designs that can rival wedding cakes to options featuring unique flavors and toppings. However, there are times when nothing quite matches the appeal of a classic glazed donut or a well-made cake donut. A great donut is the result of a combination of factors, including its flavor, texture, fillings, and freshness. LoveFood, a food-focused website, has compiled a list of the best donut shops in each state. Their selections were based on a thorough assessment of customer reviews, awards, recognition, and the personal experiences of their team.

Every state has its own regional specialties and independent establishments that offer some of the best donuts. These range from long-established family-owned shops that have stood the test of time to newer donut shops making a mark in the donut scene.

Pennsylvania's Best Donut Shop

In the ranking, Beiler’s Doughnuts in Philly and Lancaster claims the top spot as the best donut shop in the state. The food website specifically praised the shop's crème filled powdered donuts.

The donut shop holds a Yelp rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars based on a collection of over 1,500 reviews. One reviewer expressed how it's worth the way for the best donuts, stating, "I feel like every city has its known donut shops; I've tried so many in Portland and Chicago and still think Beiler's is the best!" Another reviewer commended the shop's flavorful quality of the donuts, mentioning, "Their flavor profiles are always delicious, although some pack quite the punch. For example, you better LOVE key lime if you get the key lime doughnut; there is nothing subtle about it."

Beiler’s Doughnuts has two Pennsylvania locations. One in Philly, located in Reading Terminal Market and another located in Lancaster at 398 Harrisburg Pike. Their business hours vary by location. More information on their operating hours can be found here.
