‘Saturday Night Live’s latest episode poked fun at the Delco accent in a HBO parody of ‘Mare of Easttown.’
The sketch titled “Murder Durder” was centered on the Pennsylvania-based police show. Kate McKinnon played Kate Winslet’s character, a detective investigating a killing. The bit captioned “An extremely Pennsylvania crime show,” went global while cast members repetitively said murder and durder. In once part of the sketch, Kate McKinnon calls out two local cops who she referred to as “youse guys” for eating Wawa hoagies over a dead body.
Gritty makes an appearance in the sketch when he runs into McKinnon’s character in the Pennsylvania woods. The Phanatic can also be seen in a family photo on a cop’s desk.
