The 2023 Country Music Association Awards, or CMAs, are coming up on November 8th, and that means it’s time to make our picks. This is your chance to vote for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year. Scroll to the bottom for a link to vote!
Have you ever wondered who chooses the winners? As a lifetime member of the CMA, I have the opportunity to vote for the awards you see given at the live broadcast ceremony in Nashville. I consider it a privilege, and not one I take lightly. As you are who we play the music for, I think it is only right for you to complete my ballot. You, XTU Nation, have a voice in who will be awarded the trophies at this year’s CMA Awards.
What is CMA?
Before we get into the categories, do you know what the CMA is? The Country Music Association was established in 1958, making it the first trade organization formed to promote country music. According to CMA World, the very first CMA Awards Show was a banquet held in 1967. It has become the longest-running annual music awards program on television.
The awards are voted on by the more than 6,200 industry professionals who are members of the CMA.
This year the CMA is celebrating it’s 57th year with the awards show set for November 8th, 2023. The event will be held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, and will be hosted by Luke Bryan with Peyton Manning. You can watch the show live on ABC, or stream it on Hulu.
Lainey Wilson, who XTU just announced as the headliner for our 40th Anniversary Show, leads nominees with a whopping 9 nods. It’s a record-setting year for Lainey as she not only has more nominations than any other artist, it is also the first year her name has made it on to the final ballot. Lainey’s nominations include Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, and the coveted Entertainer of the Year.
Let's take a look at the nominations for ...
Female Vocalist of the Year
Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea Ballerini has had a year! The songstress has begun a new life without her husband Morgan Evans. The two divorced in October of 2022, and her latest album is aptly named Subject to Change. More recently, Kelsea was named the new face, or hair, of Pantene.
Miranda Lambert

Miranda is no stranger to the awards stage. She currently holds the title of the most-awarded woman in country music history. At my count, she already has 31 trophies.
Ashley McBryde

Ashley McBryde is making headlines for more than her music. Years ago, there was a guy who used to go to a local bar to watch her perform. He happened to be a teacher and sometimes would bring his non-verbal students to her shows. She wanted to be able to thank them for coming.
Carly Pearce

Carly Pearce has always been a performer. The superstar got her start performing at Dolly Parton's theme park Dollywood.
Lainey Wilson

You have certainly heard Lainey's music. But have you seen her on the award-winning series Yellowstone? Lainey made her debut at the beginning of season 5 and we hope to see more of her as the season progresses!
