According to CNN, the suspect reportedly posted on social media either immediately before opening fire, or after he shot several victims.

One of his high school coaches remembers a few incidents where the then teen was unruly and disrespectful.
At this time, it is not known if mental illness played a factor in the shooting or not, however, an incident at his mother’s home earlier in the year may have been due to Long suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
