Garth Brooks: ‘We’ll Get Through This’
Garth Brooks stepped into his Studio G weekly Facebook live show and addressed what was happened in our world with the death of George Floyd and the subject of racism in our country.
Garth said, “Nobody’s mentioned COVID in the last couple of days. Now there’s another storm among us.” Brooks did share his hope saying, “We’ll get there. It might not be in our lifetime. It might not be in my children or my grandchildren’s lifetime, but we’ll get there. I think this world’s a lot better than it used to be. I really do.”
Garth then offered encouragement in a moment shared this weekend with wife Trisha Yearwood. He explained, “She was saying out loud that she feels like the whole world is burning. And so I took her outside. We’re lucky enough to live in a place that’s kind of elevated and you can see around. I said, ‘The world isn’t burning. And the reason why the world isn’t burning is because there’s a lot more people that believe in loving one another than they believe in burning the world.’ So just believe that the person next to you is a good person. We’ll get through this.”
One of Brooks biggest songs touches on the subject of racism, “We Shall Be Free.”
