Elmer Fudd & Yosemite Sam Will No Longer Carry Guns

When you tune into the rebooted Looney Tunes cartoon series on HBO Max, things are going to look a little different. Warner Bros says Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam will not be carrying guns in the new series, although their outfits will remain the same. Executive producer Peter Browngardt tells the NY Times newspaper, “We’re not doing guns. But we can do cartoony violence — TNT, the Acme stuff. All of that was kind of grandfathered in. We’re going through this wave of anti-bullying, everybody needs to be friends, everybody needs to get along.  Looney Toons is pretty much the antithesis of that. It’s two characters in conflict, sometimes getting pretty violent.”  Here are more details from CNN.
