These Words Inadvertently Activate Your Smart Speaker

It happens. You’re talking to a friend or family member and your smart speaker reacts. It’s a little freaky. Now a group of German researchers have found a list of words that inadvertently can trigger you smart speaker or digital assistant. Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant and Cortana were all tested and researchers found the device would turn on when these words were said. There are more than 1,000 words and phrases cataloged and you can read them here. Some include “election,” “a letter,” “ok, cool,” and “tobacco.” Researchers add the phrase or word doesn’t even need to come from someone in the room, tv and radio can trigger your smart device as well.
