NASA Says There Is MORE Water On The Moon That Thought
NASA announced some exciting news about the moon today! It’s wetter than they thought. Two new studies were shared during a press conference today and the news could be used as a resource during upcoming missions. The research is based on data gathered by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, in orbit around the moon since June 2009, as well as the agency’s Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy airborne telescope, called SOFIA. The latter is a Boeing 747SP aircraft modified to carry a 2.7-meter telescope. For the first time, water has been detected on the sunlit side of the moon. That made NASA Super excited.
