Jimmie Allen is the latest country star to throw his hat in the ring and compete on ABC's Dancing With The Stars, which premiered last night (9/20).

Jimmie said leading up to his performance last night, “I dance on stage, but this is a whole different type of dancing. I’m ready to learn and get my tango on.”

His dance Emma Slater said of Allen, “He has no ego, he’s just there to work hard.”

Jimmie performed a Tango with Slater and looked confident and poised as he moved across the dance floor. The pair’s Tango was set to Timberland feat. Keri Hilson’s hit single, “The Way I Are.”

The judges' reactions to his debut performance were mostly positive with Derek Hough saying, “That was amazing… I don’t know what’s going on tonight, but everyone’s been really, really good. That was an incredible week one frame, honestly. The one thing I would just say is just keeping consistent because it was good, and then every once in a while it would go woo, and it would drop down, but you have it. You know you can do it, you just got to be a little more consistent but great, great tango brother. Great job!”

Allen’s pregnant wife, Alexis, cheered him on from the audience. She posted on Instagram, "go vote for my honey!!!!!! text JIMMIE to 21523."

Jimmie himself posted to Instagram after her performance, "It’s JEMMA YALL!!!! My partner @theemmaslater is amazing. That was super fun!! Let’s do this!! Let’s vote 🙌🏽."
