Miranda Lambert was given the Texas Medal of Arts this week in her home state, and she took to her social media to celebrat.

Miranda posted some photos from the event on Instagram today (2/24), "Such an honor to receive this Texas Medal of Arts. So proud to be from the Lone Star State and thankful for all the support. Also, Thanks to my buddies @jackingram and @jonrandallmusic for playing some tunes with me."

Many fans reacted to the post, including one who said, "Well-deserved! In my opinion, you are unmatched in talent. You are truly blessed and gifted, not just for a woman, not just for a young woman, but period! You are phenomenal. Thank you for all that you have given to us. Your songs & voice are magic. See you in Vegas next month! #thequeen." Another fan commented, "Because you are an artist, and the world loves ya."

Since 2001, the TMAA have celebrated 118 Texas leaders and luminaries who have achieved excellence through their creative talents and those whose generosity has opened doors to artistic opportunity for Texans of all ages. Lambert joins past honorees, including Jamie Foxx, Matthew McConaughey, ZZ Top, Willie Nelson, Boz Scaggs, and many more.

Miranda has been spending some time in her home state of Texas and has been writing songs with an old friend. She posted a couple of photos to Twitter of herself and Wade Bowen with guitars in hand.

Lambert captioned the post on Twitter, "Me and @wadebowen have been friends for over 20 years, and we finally sat down and wrote a song together for the first time yesterday in the TX sunshine. Well, actually, 2 songs. And one of them, we might have rhymed George Strait w/ chicken fried steak. Prolly my fav rhyme ever!"

The ACM Honors were held in Nashville this week at the world-famous Ryman Auditorium and the stars hit the red carpet for the show honoring Shania Twain, Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, and more.

Fox will air the show on September 13, 2022, but so much of the show took place outside where the stars gathered with one another and met up with fans cheering them on.
