Jeff is a total theater buff but this was his very first time going to see a show in Philadelphia! The show, well it was incredible. Here’s a little more about “Dear Evan Hansen.”
Well let’s start with the AWARDS that “Dear Evan Hansen” has won. The Tony Award for Best Musical (among five other Tony’s) plus the Grammy and Oliver Award for Best Musical as well.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN features a book by Tony Award® winner Steven Levenson, a score by Grammy, Tony, Olivier and Academy Award® winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman) and direction by four-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal).
In fact, they had a chance to perform at the Tony’s the year they were nominated. Here’s that performance featuring the very talented Ben Platt (Oddly enough introduced by his Pitch Perfect costar, Anna Kendrick).
The show is currently playing at Forrest Theater between August 16th and August 28th, 2022. It is a part of the Kimmel Cultural Campus series that is held at Forrest Theater. Here’s the promotional video they released for this incredible musical.
Jeff and and his wife, Emily Kurkjian, checked out the show on Wednesday, August 17th and had an absolute blast! You can’t get a bad view of the stage, they were sitting in Mezzanine (the upper section) but still had a fantastic time!!
