I was listening to the new Luke Combs album, Gettin' Old, the other day and his cover of Fast Car came on and it is so good. Not only are his original songs incredible, but his rendition of the Tracy Chapman song is one I like even better than the original. If you haven’t heard the cover check it out below:

Remakes and covers have been around forever and stretch across all genres of music.

Sometimes there might be a song you really didn’t like until someone else sang it or maybe you’re someone that never steers from the original. Country songs from musical legends have been covered by a myriad of different artists all across various genres.

Hearing Fast Car got me thinking, what other covers from country artists have been done?

From Reba McEntire to Tyler Braden, Kelsea Ballerini to Jason Aldean, we’ve put together a list of 11 country covers you should definitely hear:

Kelsea Ballerini – Fleetwood Mac’s Dream

Kelsea Ballerini covered Fleetwood Mac’s Dream during CMT’s Campfire Sessions. Dream was Fleetwood Mac’s second single off their album Rumours.

Taylor Swift – Phil Collins’ I Can’t Stop Loving You

Taylor Swift covered Can't Stop Loving You by Phil Collins in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge back in 2020.

Tyler Braden – Train’s Drops Of Jupiter

On Tyler Braden’s YouTube channel he covers his favorite songs in a weekly series: One Song, One Take. His cover of Train’s Drops of Jupiter had us bopping our heads to the beat, but there are several other great covers on his channel.

Jason Aldean – Bryan Adam’s Heaven

The Bryan Adam’s cover can be heard of Aldean’s MACON album.

Brothers Osborne – Willie Nelson’s On The Road Again

Brothers Osborne performed a remake of Willie Nelson’s, On The Road Again on CMT’s Campfire Sessions. On The Road Again was Nelson’s ninth #1 single.

Reba McEntire – Beyonce’s If I Were a Boy

Reba McEntire covered Queen Bey in 2011.  Her version is a bit slowed down in comparison but we think she does a great rendition.

Morgan Evans – Joni Mitchell’s Big Yellow Taxi

Joni Mitchell originally recorded Big Yellow Taxi for her album, Ladies of The Canyon. The song has been covered by several other artists including Vanessa Carlton and now Morgan Evans covers it with his loop pedal.

Noah Thompson – Rihanna’s Stay

Noah Thompson won the 20th season of American Idol. He puts his own spin on Rihanna’s Stay

Rascal Flatts – Tom Cochrane’s Life is a Highway

This Rascal Flatt’s cover became a hit after it was heard in the movie Cars. Rascal Flatt’s rendition is a classic while on a road trip.

The Chicks – Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide

Landslide was written by Stevie Nicks while in Aspen, Colorado for Fleetwood Mac. The Chicks covered the song, which became a top ten hit for the trio.

Morgan Wallen – Jason Isbell’s Cover Me Up

Before releasing the studio version Morgan Wallen had covered the song for quite some time in concert. Jason Isbell released the song in 2013.
