The Andie Summers Show

This 93-year-old grandma and grandson visited all 63 national parks … and they’re still going!

I love hearing stories about people who pledge to do something fun and actually do it. Maybe you’ve heard stories of students whose parents promised to take their kid(s) to all 50 states by the time they graduate. Or baseball fans who are on a mission to see a game at each of the MLB ballparks in the country. So is the story of one 93-year old grandma who just checked off the last location on her own bucket list. She visited each of our great nation’s National Parks with the accompaniment of her grandson.

Brad Ryan and his Grandma Joy say it all started in October of 2015 when the Ohioans visited the Great Smokey Mountains. And they concluded last week with a trip to American Samoa in the South Pacific, making Grandma Joy the oldest person to visit every National Park in the US. You can see the photos by visiting Grandma Joy’s Road Trip on Facebook and Instagram.

But don’t let her age fool you. Grandma Joy and Brad aren’t finished yet. Their new goal is international. They plan to touch each of the 7 continents; and the two already have their first trip booked. The pair has a trip planned to Kenya on a National Geographic-organized expedition.

I wouldn’t put anything past these two. Grandma Joy might be the oldest woman in space!
