When they clinched on Monday, October 3rd, it was in the air as to what team they would play depending on what team ultimately wins the National League East. Ultimately, the Atlanta Braves made quite a comeback during the regular season to oust the NL East-leading New York Mets from the top division spot.
That left THREE teams in the NL East in the playoffs!
- Atlanta Braves
- New York Mets
- Philadelphia Phillies
This year, rules have been adjusted for a new playoff format. There are THREE teams that will be Wild Card teams for the 2022 Postseason. The Mets, San Diego Padres and Phillies occupy those spots.
The Padres will take on their fellow Wild Card winner, New York Mets in a three game series all played at Citi Field in Flushing, NY.
