Dolly Parton is well known for her philanthropy; she famously donates books to children all over the world, via her Imagination Library. She also helps those in need in her native East Tennessee. And, of course, there's the million-dollar donation to help with the COVID vaccine.

Dolly gives more than people know, and it was revealed on Twitter recently what she gives to high school band students all over the country. In high school in her native Sevierville, Tennesse, Parton actually played in the school band and played the snare drum.

Michael Harriot, who writes for TheGrio and The Guardian and works on The Amber Ruffin Show, posted this yesterday, "Here's a quietly wonderful thing I noticed: If you talk to someone who was in choir or band at a majority Black HS, you'll eventually discuss those annoying fundraisers for uniforms, instruments, etc. & a SURPRISING number will casually say: 'Oh, Dolly Parton paid for ours.'"

We gathered some of the reactions to this latest act of kindness from our Queen of Country Music.

In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
