Faith Hill lost her father Wesley "Ted" Perry last week. He was 88 years old.

Today, her husband Tim McGraw shared his thoughts and a video on his father-in-law on Instagram saying, "Faith’s father passed away last week at 88 yrs old. He was the sweetest, kindest most gentle man I’ve ever known. No man in my life has ever made such an impact on me as to how to be a human, a father and a friend. I’ll never, in 10 lifetimes, be able to live up to his example, but man, he has set a mark that all of us should strive for. His legacy will live on through the 3 beautiful souls he raised, Faith and her brothers, Steve and Wesley. I’m sure a day will not pass for the rest of my life, that he will not show up in my thoughts. We all love you G Pa."

In November 2018, Faith shared one of her most wonderful gifts during the holiday season and that was her father laughing. She told Pickler and Ben, "My sweet dad is 88 years old now, and he’s the salt of the earth kind of man. We've always made each other laugh so hard over the silliest things — the kind of laughter that you have in school or church that always gets you in trouble."

"I had made him a banana sandwich and he fell asleep while he was eating the sandwich,” Hill continues. "He didn’t believe me that he had done that, so I had to show him a picture of himself falling asleep with the sandwich. He started laughing so hard ... this went on for over three minutes."

Faith's mother Edna Perry passed away at age 80 in 2016.
