Dueling Meteor Showers Peak Tonight
Make sure to step outside tonight! Two meteor showers are expected to peak tonight for a sparkling display in the night sky!
To get really geeky… the two meteor showers, Delta Aquarids and Alpha Capricornids will battle it out in the night sky and put on quite the display of shooting stars! NJ.com says maybe as many as 20-25 per hour.
Viewing conditions tonight should be good for stargazers should be fair or good for much of the United States, according to accuweather.com. As many as 20 to 25 meteors per hour could be visible per hour, according to AccuWeather.com.
The clear skies will make for optimum viewing potential! I haven’t seen a particular time that is best for seeing the meteors tonight, but I did read that after midnight is usually best because it’s super dark by that time.
Happy stargazing!
