Brunch With Brian: Grubhouse
I have to make a confession. Of all the years I lived in Philly, I have never made a stop to The Bourse in Old City. Especially their food hall where your appetite can get lost with all these places to eat.
From Italian to Mexican and everything in between, they have practically everything to satisfy your appetite.
One place I found for my brunch adventure is a little place called “Grubhouse” which has been a staple in South Philly for over 4 years.
Grubhouse serves breakfast all day and features their special take on comfort food as well as craft beer from Southern breweries. They also awesome burgers and sandwiches, including their Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwiche.
However their signature dish that won the award for “The Best Of Philly” for “Best Hangover Cure” is their “Baconcakes.” Yes you heard me right!!! These are pancakes with bacon cooked inside and on top, finished with a bourbon maple syrup.
This is one of those dishes where sweet and savory marry very well together and let me tell ya, you will be stuffed.
So if you’re in the mood for some awesome comfort food, check out Grubhouse as The Bourse.
