FOX 29’s Alex Holley Unintentionally Gets Her Grandfather A Stay At Waldorf Astoria Hotel In Rome
Fox 29’s Alex Holley has landed her grandfather a three night stay at the Waldorf Astoria in Rome!
Holley’s family lost power in Texas due to the horrendous winter storm. The “Good Day Philadelphia” co-host was able to secure a hotel stay for her grandfather in efforts to keep him warm and safe.
“My parents were so excited they told Grandpa I got them a room at the Waldorf Astoria LOL it’s nowhere near that fancy but here they are pretending!!” Holly, wrote in an Instagram post. The post included touching pictures and video of her grandfather pretending he was at the real Waldorf Astoria.

The video went viral catching the attention of the real Waldorf Astoria. Within no time they reached out to Holley. “They loved the fact that we found a way to make ourselves smile and keep it lighthearted,” Holley told the Andie Summers Show. “They think everyone should have the attitude that my grandfather has, especially during times like this. Then they offered him a three night stay at the Waldorf Astoria in Rome!”
Holley went on to say, “It’s funny how things work. When my grandfather was younger and working in the army he actually went to Italy and threw a coin in the Trevi Fountain. He told himself one day I hope to come back just like the song. Now at 91 there is a chance that we’ll be able to take him back once it’s safe.”
