Nicole Reveals Longtime Family Secret!
It’s time to let you know. I didn’t grow up a Phillies fan, but a massive St Louis Cardinals fan! know, I know, but hear me out. It all started because of my Polish PopPop who’s name was Stanley. Stan Musial was a baseball legend and famous St Louis Cardinal. My PopPop was so excited that not only was there a famous baseball player named Stan in the majors, but that he was from Pennsylvania. (Donora, PA – near Pittsburgh). So my PopPop became a Cardinals fan, and in turn so did my Uncle Tony, Uncle Stan, and Uncle Fred – along with all of their kids (aka me, my brother, and cousins). My Dad is such a huge sports fan that I had every single Cardinals player memorized when I was 3 and would watch all the games.
Every Summer when the Phillies played the Cardinals, me and my Dad (and then brother Andrew when he was old enough) along with my Uncle Fred and Cousin Brian would come to Philly to see the Cardinals play the Phillies.
Once I went to Drexel, and stayed in Philly full time, I naturally became a Phillies fan, but the rest of my family still bleeds for the Cardinals. My Dad, who is the best, doesn’t hold it against me. He always says that he roots for the Phillies when they aren’t playing the Cardinals. Which will obviously be hard this weekend when the Phillies play the Cardinals in the first round of the playoffs! Talk about a family divided!
