All about the next Bachelor Joey from Philadelphia

Joey is a 28-year-old tennis pro who currently lives in Koloa, Hawaii, but is originally from Collegeville, Pennsylvania. According to Bachelor Nation Wiki, "Joey's life is truly paradise. The only thing missing someone to share it with."

If you watched the most recent season of The Bachelorette you are not surprised to hear about ABC's announcement that the runner-up from season 20, Joey Graziadei, is the next leading man on The Bachelor.

How'd he get the gig?

Joey's heart was torn in two when Bachelorette Charity Lawson told him she found a "deeper" love with fellow contestant Dotun. Despite his heartbreak, Joey says he is ready to love again. As a matter of fact, in his post-show interview, Joey said:

"This thing has just shown me how badly I want to be with someone else and get an opportunity to share life with them, because that's all I can think of."

Joey, my friend. Love might just be waiting for you, too!

7 Things We Know About The New ‘Bachelor’ From Pennsylvania, Joey Graziadei

The next Bachelor is Joey Graziadei, and he is from Pennsylvania. Here are 7 things we know about the leading man.

The most recent season of The Bachelorette, with leading woman Charity Lawson, wrapped up on August 21, 2023. Joey was, unfortunately, unlucky in love during Charity’s season, but he’s about to have his turn handing out roses.

During The Bachelorette season finale, Joey met Charity's parents, and her mother, Vicki, even said she thought he may be the one. Joey was also confident in the relationship between him and Charity.

In the final rose ceremony, when the bachelors are either sent home or one gets the girl, Joey was ready to propose. He gave a very swoon-worthy speech and started to drop down to one knee when Charity stopped him. GASP! Charity tearfully expressed to Joey that she had fallen deeper in love with someone else. Always the gentleman, Joey gave her a hug and consoled her. As he was driving away in the limo, truly heartbroken, he said "I want love bad."

Graziadei officially got announced as the next Bachelor for Season 28 of the reality series later during The Bachelorette finale. He was a season favorite, so many were hopeful he'd be the next Bachelor after not ending up with Lawson.

Fans were really rooting for Joey. During his time on The Bachelorette, he proved himself to be kind, genuine, and funny. Reactions to his Bachelor status have been mostly positive, with comments on the Instagram announcement saying things like, "first bachelor I’ve been truly excited about," and "this will be a great season."
