Texas Country Star Randall King Plans to Take His Music Worldwide
In Texas, Randall King is a household name when it comes to country music, and in the words of Backstage Country’s Kelly Ford, the singer-songwriter is ready to take on “world domination” while in his neon era.

At the top of the year, King released his 18-track sophomore album, Into The Neon. The Texas country star co-produced the collection alongside Jared Conrad and features “When My Baby’s In Boots,” “Tonk ‘Til I Die,” and “I Could Be That Rain,” which is a memorable track, to say the least.
King spoke to Ford backstage at the ACM Awards on “I Could Be That Rain” and more.
“I love this song. The first time I heard it, I was like, ‘Oh yeah, we can do something with this.’ There’s a lot to it. It’s a deep song,” King told Ford.
He continued, “It’s so heartfelt about just wishing, wishing you had the opportunity to just be with that person one time. You’re hoping that they’re sitting there in the same room that you’re sitting in.”
Now, what will the Texas native be wearing on the ACM Awards red carpet Thursday night (5/16)? King revealed to Ford that he’ll be rocking a pair of Lucchese cowboy boots, with a blazer and jeans, and a real nice belt buckle.
King is well on his way to becoming a leading voice for traditional country music and has a lot to offer the genre. The 33-year-old takes inspiration from George Strait and Keith Whitley, among others.
If you haven’t seen King perform live yet, you’re in luck; he is currently out on the road for headlining dates through the end of the summer. While he has been touring non-stop and living the life of a country singer, he’s also doing his best to take it all in.
“Heard my sis say ‘Slow down, bubba.’ I gotta remember it’s all in God’s timing and not mine. Been on the grind hard lately and at times gotta remember to live in the moment,” King posted on Instagram.
The 2024 ACM Awards will air on Thursday, May 16 at 8 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. CDT/5 p.m. PDT, streaming live exclusively on Prime Video.
