Garth Brooks Is Headed For Another Hall Of Fame
Austin City Limits is celebrating its gold Anniversary beginning this fall, and they’re going to kick off their 50-year celebration by inviting Garth Brooks to join the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame.
When he heard the news, Garth said, “To be part of anything Austin City Limits is and always has been an honor. I am humbled and grateful to not only be a part of the 50th Anniversary but to be inducted into the ACL Hall of Fame is over the top.”
Brooks’ induction will take place September 5 at the Moody Theater, Austin City Limits’ studio home in Austin, Texas. Highlights from the event – and Garth’s performance with his band – will air as an hour-long special on September 28 as part of ACL’s anniversary celebration on PBS.
The country superstar has longtime ties to Austin City Limits. He first appeared on the program in 1990 at the beginning of his career, then returned a decade later to open and close the program’s milestone 25th season with two hour-long episodes.
A couple of years ago, he participated in a pair of memorable, intimate, non-broadcast events to close the show’s longtime home inside Studio 6A on the University of Texas campus, where the program had been recorded since 1974.
Previous inductees include such diverse musical luminaries as B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Guy Clark, Kris Kristofferson, Loretta Lynn, Ray Charles, Roseanne Cash, Roy Orbison, Willie Nelson, and Trisha Yearwood.

Brooks has been playing shows at his Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace this year. Seven has always been Garth’s favorite number, and he combines the two in a new box set.
The new Garth Brooks 7-7-7 Jackpot Box Set includes seven discs of music filled with 77 songs and a custom book full of photos showcasing his performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Garth told us, “When you think about Vegas, you think about getting lucky. Nothing’s better than 7-7-7. I love this box set simply because it’s got stuff in it you can’t get anywhere else.”
The new set is a lot like each performance he gives onstage at The Colosseum. However, the Garth Brooks 7-7-7 Jackpot Box Set has been created for folks to take home with them. It’s filled with four discs of cover songs reflecting his influences, songs performed live, and a unique collection of collaborations.
Brooks added, “When you think about the Stadium Tour, when you think about the Comeback Tour, the Dive Bars, the one-man show – the show at Caesars Palace has them all!”
He concluded, “I love this box because it’s got the greatest songs in it. But for me? It also has the greatest fun in it.”
